• Xcel Energy Renewable Energy Trust
  Xcel Energy’s Renewable Energy Trust (RET) is a grant program that supports renewable energy projects for Colorado nonprofit organizations and public entities. The program is funded through contributions from Xcel Energy residential and business customers either with lump-sum donations or through a premium on energy bills. The fund is administered through The Denver Foundation as a donor-advised fund.
• 2018 Youth Garden Grant
  Since 1982, KidsGardening has awarded Youth Garden Grants to 5456 schools, nonprofits, and youth programs across the United States contributing over 2.9 million dollars in funding to youth gardening initiatives. The 2018 Youth Garden Grant is sponsored by KidsGardening’s generous donor base with contributions from leading companies in the horticulture industry: Dramm Corporation, Eartheasy, Fiskars Brands Inc., Gardener’s Supply Company, Growers Supply Company, High Mowing Organic Seeds, JavaCycle, and Smart Pots.
• Regional Air Quality Council Grant
  The Regional Air Quality Council (RAQC) is requesting applications to fund the purchase of low emission, commercial-grade, lawn and garden equipment to improve air quality in the Denver Metro/North Front Range ozone nonattainment area. Approximately $120,000 is available for funding the replacement of gasoline-powered commercial lawn and garden equipment with battery or propane powered equipment. Funding will be on a first-come-first-served basis with minimum awards of $1,000 and maximum awards of $15,000 per entity.
• President's Environmental Youth Award
  he PEYA program recognizes outstanding environmental projects by K-12 youth. Each year the PEYA program honors a wide variety of projects developed by young individuals, school classes (kindergarten through high school), summer camps, public interest groups, and youth organizations to promote environmental awareness. Recent award-winning student projects included forming recycling programs for pencils and books, starting an environmental news YouTube channel, and creating a better method to protect migratory birds from airplanes. Projects need an adult sponsor. Talk to your students today about submitting their work.The PIAEE program recognizes outstanding K-12 teachers who employ innovative approaches to environmental education and use the environment as a context for learning for their students. PIAEE’s winners will be awarded up to $2,500 to be used to further their professional development in environmental education. The teacher's local education agency will also receive up to $2,500 to fund environmental education activities and programs.
• Electrify America
  Electrify America LLC, based in Reston, Virginia, will invest $2 billion over the next 10 years in Zero Emission Vehicle (ZEV) infrastructure and education programs in the U.S. Over four 30-month cycles, Electrify America will invest $1.2 billion nationwide (in states other than California) and $800 million in California, one of the largest ZEV markets in the world. This investment represents the largest of its kind.
• APS District-Wide Walk-In Cooler/Freezer Retrofit RFP
  This is the RFP that Aurora Public Schools (APS) recently (2015) used to procure retrofits throughout all of the district's walk-in coolers/freezers including installation of energy efficient EC motors, evaporator and door heater controls. This very successful project awarded to PowerDown was not only effective for conserving energy and earning some sizable Xcel rebates, it was also tremendously useful for identifying deteriorating equipment conditions. • APS District Waste, Recycling and Composting RFP
  This is the RFP that Aurora Public Schools (APS) recently (2015) used to request waste, recycling and potential composting services from a single supplier that had the ability to measure approximate container weights and send such monthly waste data for each site electronically to APS. We have intentions of leveraging this data on the APS natural resources dashboard. Alpine Waste and Recycling was the winning bidder.
